It’s cloudy and colder today, we have strong winds and a possibility of snow, apparently.
February isn’t done with us yet.
I was thinking this morning about the Friday I asked for single words and then used them to write a story. That was a lot of fun, I’m going to do that again.
Be ready!
Just not today, because I have to carve out a solid chunk of time for the writing.
We’ve finally made it to Friday, we got a good ruling from the Supreme Court about the tariffs being invalid, but that always leaves me a little unsettled. Sometimes I think they give us some of the stuff because they are going to do something far worse later on.
We can never tell.
I mean maybe three of those SCOTUS Justices, Chief Justice John Roberts included, actually see the constitutional overthrow in progress and will, shockingly, I have to say, do their jobs as the final line of defense.
I don’t know. I have trust issues.
But rebuking the vast overstepping we’re seeing, holding it back, preserving the Constitution, would give John Roberts that legacy he’s after.
Imagine being the person in history who saved the Constitution from a threat like this.
Just sayin’.
Even if it’s not frivolous.
The decision itself is good news, even if it’s a single boundary drawn in a boundless overreach. It’s hard to see South Korea doing things absolutely right and knowing we could have as well, if only republicans were morally centered, constitutionally centered.
Welp.
But congratulations, South Korea, for handling a similar situation so much better than we have, with martial law declarer Yoon Suk Yeol convicted of attempting to take control of the government and receiving a life sentence. Excellent, excellent work.
Hmm, I don’t think we got to frivolous at all today, much as I wanted to, but I guess we can’t help how the news comes out.
But keep an eye out for a request for words, probably next Friday but we’ll see how it goes, and have a wonderful day and weekend.
