The rain came and went, but I wouldn’t put anything past that sky, full of blotchy ripples of gray. The forecast says no rain today.
It’s not always right.
No word-prompt story (surely there’s a more elegant way to put that) today, but you can check out last week’s, if you missed it! Not my usual genre, as in it’s neither science fiction nor fantasy of any kind, but what are those posts for, if not to stretch the old writing legs?
To be clear, I don’t write with my legs, I write with my fingers. But I suspect you weren’t at at all confused about that.
We’ve made it to yet another Friday in this mess of a paradox we call our timeline, if only grudgingly, and it’s incredible how much damage can be done between one day of sitting down to chat with you and the next. It’s impossible to keep track at this point.
I don’t know why I don’t have another cup of coffee right now. I could really use it, but my desk and the coffeemaker are so very, very, very far apart.
There are definitely bigger problems in the world.
I don’t have much to add to the general melee today, I think my head is vastly improved but not yet fully back, given the trouble I had getting to the world “melee.” And I’m still not sure it’s exactly the word I meant.
Another frustration, but a purely personal one. One we may share, to be sure, but the kind you have to get through yourself.
I am, for better or for worse or for largely indifferent, still here, still sitting at the window where the outside world catches my attention over my computer, still wanting that coffee I haven’t stepped away to make.
We are here.
And that’s good enough for this week.
Have a fantastic Friday and a wonderful weekend.
