It’s sunnish, coolish, and I definitely did not get enough done this weekend. Which means Monday Me is in for it.
I guess that’s the nature of Mondays.
But before we get into it, thank you so much, Ellen, for the coffees! I have to say that sometimes, when I sit down to finally write the prompted story, I wonder what I’ve gotten myself into. And yet they are irresistible. I am so glad you enjoy them too! I love how the words themselves can actually shape the story.
And speaking of, thank you for the coffee, Ssampson! I am particularly tickled you enjoyed the schadenfreude part because that actually cracked me up too. Sometimes I do things I assume might only amuse myself so it’s a double win when I can also amuse others.
And now onto Monday.
In case you missed it, I did a prompted story on Friday, it’s a fun one, so you may want to check it out because if we can end the week on a laugh, we can also start it. I also, if you remember, ergonomicized my workspace, and the final bit of it is a trackball mouse.
I’m still adjusting.
A regular mouse wouldn’t fit on my keyboard tray, and the reaching for the mouse started to get annoying so I guess I’m trying to get as close to not moving while I write as possible which, now that I type it aloud, may not be the best idea.
Hey, remember when I said it was sunnish? It’s definitely looking more cloudyish. Rainy cloudyish.
We’ll see.
Anyway, the trackball still requires fine-tuning, which sounds odd because you’d think a mouse is a mouse, but it isn’t, really. I am not as precise with it, so there are times I say “close enough.”
And I think for today, our mantra should be “close enough.”
Because I can promise you that on this particular Monday with the clouds rolling in and a list growing by the moment, perfection is not going to happen.
Maybe it’s too much to ever really lean into. Maybe there are times it’s worth the effort, but when it comes to the laundry of life, or even the laundry of laundry, I’m not sure you’d really ever tell the difference.
Or at least I wouldn’t really ever tell the difference.
Anyway, that’s it for me today, I’ve got a very daunting project ahead of me, and I want to get to it so I can get through it.
Ooh.
I like that.
