(AI image of balloons on the floor, a few in the air heading down) It’s a gray one again, though there are some patches of blue breaking through. If that sounds like a sign, I think so too.

Enough with the negative Pres. Biden talk, we have it in our power to make this ploy as buoyant as the lead balloon it is. If we talk abut Pres. Biden, let’s talk about his accomplishments.

If people raise “what if something happens,” let’s talk about our amazing vice president. That is precisely why there is a vice president.

If people want to keep going, make them say it: they are afraid of a Black Asian woman running the show.

Make. Them. Say. It.

Because we all know that underneath the ageism lies the racism.

And then focus on what trump has done, what trump will do, what SCOTUS has done, what the next four years means in the history of this planet and humanity. Because the idea that this trivial nonsense somehow eclipses all of the concentrated evil just salivating to get its hands on power is, frankly unbelievable.

Treat stupid concerns as stupid. People should be embarrassed in the scheme of things to worry about a single debate after barely enduring four years of trump. And a lot of people didn’t make it.

How many more if his power is unchecked?

Trump already tried to overthrow the Constitution. That seems bigger than a bad debate. Trump stole classified information, lied about having it and tried to conceal it. That seems bigger than a bad debate. Trump has said he wants to be a dictator. That seems bigger than a bad debate.

Trump has made clear he will use the power of the presidency to exact revenge and harm others.

That seems bigger than a bad debate.

Don’t let other people set the parameters of conversation. You set them. Bring it back to what actually matters and if necessary, don’t do it politely. The asteroid is coming and that asteroid is the Republican party.

Don’t be sad. Don’t wallow.

Get angry.

Angry.

How dare they do this to us, how dare media aid and abet the destruction of this country and democracy. How dare they besmirch the reputation and record of a good man who has done a whole lot of good in a lifetime as a public servant.

How.

Dare.

They.

We can win this. We WILL win this but we have to keep our head the game, our game, not the game they define so they can make up the rules as they go along.

Let’s go.
