It’s warmer here than a lot of places, though it’s getting colder instead of heating up today. It started around 24F (-4.4 C) but now it’s down to 20F (-6.6C). Warmer tomorrow, though, and warmer still on Saturday.

Even above freezing.

I’m restless today, both in my body and my thoughts. How to approach the post today; what to prioritize; everything has an undercurrent of antsy.

Probably need to get used to this feeling, I’d imagine. We’re still in the first week.

It’s very much a write and erase, write and erase, write and erase kind of day, with dead ends and nonsensical alleys which some how deposit me right back where I started. Topics rise and fall like ancient civilizations.

Like our civilization?

Maybe that’s what the problem is, that’s what keeps trying to emerge from below the surface. We knew it would be bad, it started out bad, and there’s only down to go from here.

And we thought Buffy had it hard living on the Hellmouth.

So my thoughts buzz like busy little hummingbirds. Let’s hope the beaks are just as sharp.

Or maybe we shouldn’t.

Maybe we should think of ourselves as explorers, heading into the vast unknown, with the underlying knowledge that the odds of completing the mission unscathed are low.

We will observe and we will react; we will gain skills and we will problem-solve.

We’ve all seen enough sci-fi to get through it.

Maybe this is what that whole post-apocalyptic craze was all about. Plus side, no zombies.

Yet.

Anyway, that’s it for me and my unruly thoughts today. Have a great Thursday.

Buy me a cup of coffee!
