It’s sunny, it’s hot, and we have rain on the way. I’ve had my two cups of coffee and I really want another.

Toying with risking it.

I may regret it. I may think it’s the best thing I’ve ever done.

I did already put my mug in the sink, though…I do have other mugs.

Welp, I went for it, we’ll see how it goes.

Yesterday, Bev–a friend of this blog and a friend over on Spoutible–asked me how I come up with the eclectic topics for my posts. “Eclectic” is my word, not hers and one my Mom always hated for some reason.

Maybe because tone matters, which is why I stress, my word, not Bev’s.

And the truth is, they happen. I know there are people who plan their posts ahead, list out topics, maybe even outline. When I did the A to Z Challenge, where you post from A to Z six days a week throughout April, there were many people who had their entire month ready before it even launched.

I took the letter as a prompt and off I went.

It’s similar to how I write fiction, I don’t know where things are going before I get there, and I’ve found if I do, I should get to that point more quickly, because the interesting bit lies beyond it.

This place truly is a reflection of what I’m thinking about, a snapshot of my thoughts in a specific window of time.

Though sometimes sometimes something hits me before, and I know what I’ll be talking about before I ever sit down.

As I told Bev, it’s lucky I have opinions on almost everything.

But I think everyone has something like that, something they do, something they don’t look too closely at or the whole thing falls apart. A reflex, really.

And if you personally have to really focus on that particular thing someone else doesn’t, it can seem like magic. Like one thing for me is watching valets park cars. They can drive absolutely anything in any direction through any space.

I find that remarkable.

Anyway, today really was a bit of a chat, nothing deep, nothing stressful, as the clouds start to take over the sky. Maybe that rain is coming sooner than I thought.

Have a wonderful Tuesday.

Buy me a cup of coffee!
