It’s sunny, and we’re under a heat warning today, like much of the country. I’m frazzled and it’s not just the heat.
But before we get into that, I want to that Judith and Bev for the coffees. It’s so kind of you to acknowledge my work in that way, and I can’t tell you how grateful I am for it. Thank you each and both so much.
And now Wednesday.
The choice that I made last week has turned out a little bumpier than I anticipated, the road littered with some potholes I didn’t expect.
Not that you ever expect potholes, I guess.
But I have to remind myself there are no perfect choices, only choices. No perfect choices, only choices.
If I say it enough, maybe it will sink in.
Again, that idea is not original, but it does speak to me.
I don’t know why I haven’t learned there are so very few smooth paths in life. So very few well-tended, easy, complete with lovely scenery.
And the ones that exist seem woefully short.
Yet I find myself hoping for one each and every time. We humans are so weird.
Anyway, yesterday’s post was very long, so today looks like it’s going to be very short, as aside from my own edgy energy, I don’t have much to add. And I don’t want to share my edginess.
In fact I was just reminded on Spoutible “Not to put fear in the atmosphere,” which felt like remarkably apt advice for today, not only for the point for which it was intended.
So I will work on that, and you will work on whatever it is you need to today, as our needs may vary widely this Wednesday, and I will wish you the most wonderful of days.
