It’s sunny, it’s cooler, cooler than I associate with the end of August. I’d swear the seasons are shifting, because late in this month I think of hot, humid, unmoving air sitting like a damp blanket over the city.
Not this year. Not for the last several years that I can remember.
And now with a little wink (WINK) and pretense, on we go.
I’m extra sneezy today, and I’m a little worried I’m allergic to my headboard. Which is not an easy fix, from any direction. It’s only about 6 months old, and when the movers set up my bed, they cross-threaded the leg on my base, so if the headboard goes, it goes.
It gets vacuumed, but perhaps that needs to be done more frequently. I’m going to try steam cleaning it, I’m pretty sure there’s a steam cleaner somewhere around here.
Though my Dad gets sneezy when he’s chilly, maybe I do too, maybe that’s all it is. Maybe it’s time to start wearing cozier clothes.
Not much of a burden, I love cozy clothes.
OK, switched.
And now, as I sit here, I see there’s been yet another school shooting, with at least 20 victims. And then the article, after talking about it for about four sentences, launched into donald and his tariffs.
How relevant.
Not guns and their easy access. Not what kind of rhetoric may have inspired a man or boy–it’s not clear which–with a death toy to go murder school children, just more about donald, his tariffs and his military invasion of DC. Perhaps the implication is that an invasion would be appropriate there.
Maybe they should start with Texas.
Maybe we have a universe of possibilities even with our nascent technology and maybe all we ever do is invent new and more efficient ways to kill each other.
Oh and replace women, I guess, I saw an article where they were proposing a robot with an artificial uterus could “give birth” to a human as soon as next year.
Brave New World indeed.
I can see it, can’t you? With men selecting to marry robots instead of actual women. There’d be a slight issue with the ova but nothing misogynistic violence and the white patriarchy couldn’t solve.
Build a Spouse replacing Build a Bear.
Although hey, imagine being able to program your partner. I’m warming up to the idea, plus forget the dating pool.
Of course if you have AI that complex and sophisticated, shouldn’t it be free to make its own choices about partners?
If you haven’t seen Humans, the UK sci-fi series, you really should. It’s where all of this will go, eventually.
Well this was a bit of a ramble. And I took an extra allergy pill, and I’m already less sneezy. Yay but…boo. Still thinking headboard.
Anyway, that’s it for me on this Wednesday. There might be a bit of wisdom here or there if you sift, I guess, but either way, have a great day.
