It’s sunny, it’s cool, and and I’ve been doing everything this morning besides writing.

Or laundry.

I also haven’t been doing laundry.

Well, I guess I haven’t been doing EVERYTHING but I haven’t been writing.

Hurricane Melissa cut a path of devastation through Jamaica, and as of right now they haven’t been able to completely assess the toll. It hit Cuba, and though it entered a Category 3 and left a Category 2, it also did terrible damage.

It’s predicted it will be hitting the Bahamas next.

I still haven’t cracked the “why” of these things, only that they are. Horrendous things that bear down on people only living their lives.

And that is amidst the man made–and I mean SPECIFICALLY MAN–hurricane of what donald and republicans are doing to the people of this nation right now. Terrorism in our own cities by fellow citizens, starving people, firing an unimaginable number of federal workers, not paying another vast number yet expecting them to work.

Snatching food out of the mouths of children.

Though I guess a group of people who would tear gas near a children’s Halloween parade wouldn’t care much about whether kids are eating. Republicans are the party who have treated every slaughter of children in schools by their pet weapons as a minor inconvenience.

Hurricane Melissa is a monster of nature, sure, but I’m even more concerned about the monsters of men, the ones who go around looking like they are regular people, when what they really are is evil encased in skin.

And it’s not only old ones, either. There are young ones too, raised on watching that thing in the white house doing whatever he wants however he wants, and watching men who look like them telling them they have the right to anything.

Anything at all, including women, because women are also just things that can be acquired, used, discarded at a whim. Without agency.

I think we’ve learned that humans in general, if left to their own devices, are not moral creatures. At least more of them are like that then we really realized.

Anyway, that’s it for me for today, for whatever it’s worth. I don’t know how we chip away at it.

However we can, I guess.

Have a great Wednesday.
