Another cold, gray day, which is pretty much what we can expect this time of the year. We’ve had some mild ones, we were due some serious cold.

Thank you so much, Deb, for the coffee, speaking of the cold! And I appreciate the nod to FINALLY getting the doors up! What a project. As you know, home improvement is such an up and down process, but the triumph when it goes right! Thanks so much for the support.

And now Wednesday.

Some of you may be aware I have a daily calendar of “witticisms” which are sometimes and are not a little more often.

But today it says “I may rise, but I refuse to shine.”

I’m not accepting that. Today we rise and refuse not to shine.

We rise and we refuse not to shine.

For women especially, we spend so much of our time trying not to “upset” people or make them feel bad in any way, even if that feeling bad is all on them and not at all on us. We shrink ourselves, sometimes literally, to not take up more space than other people think is ours.

Well.

At least for today.

Let’s not do that.

I know I personally rarely go full blast with my light, as there has always been someone, someone with something to say about it. As we watch people become completely emboldened to do horrible things, why not become emboldened to do the opposite?

Audacious for the good?

Brilliantly, fully ourselves?

I know it’s difficult and I know we will always get pushback. I also know some of you are thinking, wait, you could be even MORE more than we see?

You’re already a lot.

And yet…there’s more.

We are all icebergs, my friends, and how much we let others see can vary.

So forget my calendar. Whatever it is, wherever you’re holding back, whatever the form, shine completely and don’t worry about who has to shield their eyes from the glow.

There’s enough darkness in the world. Shine away.

And have a great Wednesday.

Buy me a cup of coffee!
