It’s cold again today (19 F, -7.2 C) and we may get a bit of snow. I’ve got what I need, though for a cozy night in tomorrow, so that’s good.

The weather always seems to be rough around New Year’s.

It’s difficult to believe that we’re here, on this very last square of a disappearing floor. It is a year that dragged and a year that sped by. It was a year in which we saw that human depravity is not something confined to black and white photos.

It was a year that revealed people, the essence of people, and who they truly, truly are.

And now we know.

Evil may be tireless, but good can be as well.

It was a tumultuous year to live through, and whether history will reflect that, I’m not sure any of us will know. But we’ve seen the erasure of people’s accomplishments in real time, the reshaping of history, and that’s something we should never forget while looking back through though the long lens of time.

I hope we can leave this year in this year, shed it like a spent skin, and arrive into the new one wiser, stronger, and more determined.

It hasn’t been “good” but perhaps it was necessary. Some people need to see to see.

We won’t chat again until the new year, at least here, as tomorrow we have our tradition, so I wish you a very wonderful and very safe and very ideal New Year. May 2026 bring better days.

Have a great Tuesday.
