A Bit to Read

It’s not that cold if you look at our temperature right now (21F/-6 C which really confused me because apparently I left it on C last time I checked) but the windchill is vicious.

They’re warning it could feel as cold as -30 F (-34 C) and right now, the “feels like” temp is 9 F (-13ish C).

I think we can safely say it’s COLD.

I went through a whole ordeal to add blackout curtains to my room and I have to say I got them up just in time. I think they’ve helped a little with the chill. It’s dry in here, though, I haven’t been running my humidifier because of the moisture on the windows. They are so cold, it will freeze.

Ah, Chicago in January.

I’m running it right now, though so I can keep an eye on the situation.

If you’re also getting extreme cold, please make sure you have food, take care of your pipes, avoid exposure if you can and bundle up if you can’t. They’ve even closed the schools tomorrow.

I’m kind of not super wordy today, at least here, because if I get started on my thoughts it will be a tirade and I don’t know if any of us are in the mood for a tirade today.

I’m not.

It’s probably escapist, especially with Friday Frivolity coming up, but it’s what I need today and we are going to allow ourselves self-care, even in these times, for as long as we can.
