It’s sunny, still below freezing but just, and our primary was yesterday. Not a ton of surprises, really. It’s interesting if you look at the total votes cast in each partisan primary, though.
Lt. Gov. Juliana Stratton won the Democratic primary for Sen. Dick Durbin’s seat. He’s been a champion for our state for decades, but I would love to see two incredible women represent us in the Senate.
Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi must have spent a fortune on ads, they started something like a year ago, but maybe money alone can’t do it. I really hope that’s the lesson this year.
I guess we can only wait and see.
Oh how very wise. I just made that up, you know.
The road ahead looks very rocky, we need the best tour guides we kind find.
Tour guides?
I don’t know, probably not the strongest metaphor, but my coffee is not hitting full brain.
I think we can all agree things are not great. And it’s going to take a major shift in Congress to get them even to tolerable.
So, wherever we are, we need to work on that.
It’s hard to keep hope even on life support lately, but the turnout for the primary has given me a bit of a spark. It was a record, and if that can happen for the primary, hopefully it will happen for the general.
Anyway, that’s it for me on this Wednesday. I hope you have a great day and don’t forget your primaries!
