Still cold, but getting warmer, and still sunny, so at least there’s that. Not quite springy yet.
We’re getting there.
Thank you so much, Deb, for the coffee!! I still haven’t shaken the grogginess but at least every drop of coffee helps. We are muddling along, aren’t we? Bit by bit, project by project, little hope by little hope. Thank you.
Right now, I have sewing on the brain. I finally got some of the tools and supplies I needed, so I am raring to go. The first thing I want to do is put a closure on the bag I made. It’s too late for a zipper, I think it’s too late for a flap so I think I’ll do a simple button closure, I got some cute wooden ones, and there’s a tutorial on how to make a closure with a strip of fabric. That or some Velcro on the inside. My plan is to use it for the essentials when heading out for a walk anyway, so that should do it.
Obviously tips and advice are welcome!
I’ve found some simple designs for things like baskets and organizers, and I really enjoyed making the bag, I may try more of those.
I looked into beginning sewing classes near me, but the cost is pretty high and also I’m a jump in and work it out person. I figure anything I haven’t worn in a while is available material; same with things that are showing age or whatever. I actually have some sheet sets put aside to donate, though I think I’ll still do that, they’re nice, in good shape, and someone can use them as is.
I’d like to use sewing to be less wasteful, and since they are sheets I don’t care for or don’t seem to use, they still have life in them.
Again, though, tips and advice are welcome. So many of you are so experienced, I love to learn from other people’s journeys.
And the beauty of filling your mind with something new and challenging is you can go an entire length of a post without even really mentioning the state of the world.
Maybe that’s only me.
And maybe that’s only sort-of, because I think I just did it. OOPS.
Anyway, that’s it for me this Thursday, I hope you have a lovely day filled with things that capture your attention.
