Well it’s much warmer today, 52F, 11C and super glary. Or maybe that’s just me.
I’ve discovered why I was so draggy yesterday, and its name is migraine.
I flew too close to the sun, my friends, and like Icarus, learned my lesson the hard, plunging to the earth as the wax melted my wings away.
Figuratively, of course. If it was literal this would be a very different post.
I have food triggers for my migraines, including a lot of common food additives, so I have to be careful with ordering out. And I had success with a new falafel place and got cocky.
Alas.
Although I guess it could be the weather, it’s been very volatile, and we’re supposed to get rain tomorrow. It could be a wonderful, wonderful combo, but regardless, here I am, gluey-brained.
If you know, you know and I’m sorry you know.
It’s not the worst right now, and hopefully it won’t get that way, but it’s not my favorite state of head-being. Especially while writing. Words feel heavy and clunky, and none of them seem to fit quite right.
I have my remedies and they have been generously applied, aside from sleep, which really seems to be the very best of all. Eventually, I’ll prescribe that to myself as well.
But this is life, especially now. We muddle on and muddle through however it is we manage. Perfect is an illusion of the past; pretty is a luxury these days.
We can just settle for “done.”
