It’s another gray day, much cooler again, down, 38F (3C) and soon to be very, very windy. Rain later, most likely, no storms though, mostly drizzle.
April showers and all that.
I am feeling worlds better today. Still a little bit of sneezing, but largely less, and my back is very much close to normal, enough that I could work out this morning.
Always good to keep moving if you can.
But it made me think about my writing setup, and I finally installed the keyboard tray I got ages ago. Or, rather, my dad did, which I have to say was a nice perk.
As you know I can assemble with the best of them, or at least the most mediocre of them, but having it done for me was a great break. I’ve also ordered an ergonomic keyboard, hopefully a good one. I couldn’t bring myself to get one of those outrageously expensive ones, so I got one at a moderate price from a reputable brand and we’ll see how it goes.
I may hate it.
But typing on the desktop is definitely not great, not for long sessions. I’d really like to get back to really long sessions.
It’s been a while.
But the world feels like such a grim place.
Largely because we’re in one of those stretches where it is.
Anyway, we’re all the way down here and not one hint of wisdom yet. So I offer you this:
If you are tired, rest.
If you are in pain, see to it, in the way that works well for you, whatever that way may be, so long as it doesn’t actually hurt you.
If a part of you is asking for something, loudly, quietly, give it to it. We have wisdoms we don’t really see and and we can’t actually quantify.
When we get used to tuning ourselves out or using the word no on ourselves more than anyone else, it can be hard to hear these needs, let alone tend to them.
I think now, more than ever, we have to take care of ourselves, to face a highly abrasive world.
We don’t have to give ourselves a highly abrasive inner life.
Anyway, that’s it for me this Wednesday, I hope you have an amazing day and do something kind for yourself.
