It’s gray, I think it’s supposed to rain, and I had one of those nights of sleep where strange, hectic dreams made waking up feel more restful.

I didn’t watch anything particularly thrilling last night, so I don’t think it’s that. Just my brain entertaining itself again, I guess.

If you didn’t read my Friday word prompt story I would encourage you to do so, particularly because this one was very challenging, and also is silly and fun, which we all need.

So there’s that.

Here on this Monday on this very un-June day, I was sitting here in silence, trying to decide which direction to take when the construction noise returned. I think it will be around for a while, though it’s been pretty intermittent so far.

And it made me think: you can be stuck and then you can be stuck and have to unstick through construction noise.

The universe is always ready to add a multiplier.

Maybe it was too quiet before, maybe that irritation is what I need to get my fingers going. Or maybe it sucks to have loud, vibrating noise enter my writing space.

Maybe life is different than the romanticized version of writing I have in my head until I sit down to do it.

It’s workable, though. It’s all workable.

I guess that’s only a tiny message, a crumb of life raft to cling to in this rampaging sea, but perhaps if we know that there’s being stuck and then there’s being stuck with construction noise and then there’s being stuck with even louder construction noise, and then there’s being stuck with everything that’s going on in the world, and on and on and on, perhaps if we know that…

We can get unstuck just at stuck. Or the next thing. It’s the trying to anticipate or avoid or prevent the next thing that gets tiring.

At least that’s what I’m thinking this morning, in a break between the drilling.

Anyway, that’s it for me for this Monday. Have a great day and a great start to your week.
