It’s sunny and mild and today I am thinking about all of these white dudes who casually are throwing out things being “a small price to pay,” when they have absolutely no intention of being the ones to pony up.
One was an AI bro; the other the guy oozing self-tanner and evil all over the White House. That one in the capital has used the phrase before, in talking about the exorbitant gas prices and food prices due to a war that hasn’t actually been declared by Congress.
Fun times.
But this time he was talking about nuclear annihilation of American cities being a small price to pay, for what exactly I’m not sure.
I don’t see a bargain on the other end of that deal.
And other Americans cheered it.
Other.
Americans.
Cheered.
It.
Well, at least we assume they were Americans. Who knows.
I’ve been at a loss for a better part of a decade now. When is enough finally enough? It’s not like his motivations are tough to read either, someone probably told him that without a couple of cities in California, he and republicans could win the state.
His brain is that simplistic and sadistic.
Look, I have no pithy retorts, no satisfying wrap-up, no calls to action aside from needing to vote in the safest way possible given how much it looks like he wants to hinder that too.
There were infinite exits on this road before we got to shrugging off the potential deaths of millions of Americans as “a small price to pay.”
Getting here was a choice. No matter what people try to say now, especially the people in those two cities who helped to get us here, their eyes were wide open.
They just decided what they wanted to see.
What’s the next “small price to pay?”
Anyway, that’s it for me on this Tuesday, I hope you have a good day and pay no prices, small or large.
