It’s sunnyish and Mondayfull, and there are a lot of things I don’t want think about and certainly, then, don’t want to write about.

There are some things that you see when they begin; other things began quite some time ago, and even if a thousand Cassandras shouted directly into the wind, no one cared to listen.

This is the second one.

But if you’re here with me, on this sunnyish, Mondayfull Monday, you already know. You too are likely a Cassandra.

I’m not sure what there is to say now. Obviously we can’t simply accept it, become the boiling frogs. Though that is precisely what so many people have done.

They should have acted when he was filling up the pot.

They should have acted when he was talking about taking the pot out of the cupboard.

They should have acted when he began to muse aloud about pots and water and boiling frogs.

But here we are, the water is roiling and it’s not a spa.

And yet the cars drive down the road, people walk from here to there, and the flags wave, wave, wave in the breeze. Normal and not normal, all at once.

Very much not normal.

Huh, the sunnyish has turned to cloud, and now I wonder if they’re going back to predicting rain for today. The wind seems to have picked up, too.

The way things can turn.

Though they’re not saying anything about rain at the moment.

Anyway, from here on out, trust your gut. Take care of yourself, take care of the people you care about. Read the room, read the air, especially if you’re out protesting.

The violence is there, waiting. We’re right on the very edge of it, and if it never comes, that will be through some kind of broad, random luck.

People looking for excuses usually find them.

I don’t want to cause fear or panic, that’s not the goal, though that’s what people always go to, the idea that there is some kind of exaggeration for reasons unknown but guessed.

That’s not what this is. You can see it for yourself, you can feel it for yourself. I’m not an oracle.

I just have my eyes wide open, even if I don’t want to think about it.

Anyway, that is it for me today, I wish you a very productive Monday.
