It’s a sunny one today, but a taunting sunny one, because it’s currently around freezing and it’s going to drop. A lot.

A LOT.

Tomorrow my weather is listing a high of 2 F (-16.7) a low of 0 degrees F (-17.8C) and a windchill of -20 (-28.9 C) to -30 F (-34.4 C), so a really good time to be out. And when you’re in the city and among buildings–especially in the Loop–the wind whips around and around, zooms between the skyscrapers, seemingly swirls around corners.

So much fun.

The best advice is to stay indoors.

Which is interesting because my Dad and I have really been enjoying a YouTube channel lately I’ll get to in a minute. And if you are wondering why this is so fluffy after a week of some sizzling hot takes, it’s because I’m wondering if we need some #FridayFrivolity.

We’ll see if it becomes a regular thing.

Back to the frivolity.

So the channel is beautifully filmed by Cecilia Blomdahl in Svalbard, which is this archipelago that belongs to Norway in the Arctic. She lives in a cabin with her boyfriend Christopher and their super cutie pie dog Grim outside of Longyearbyen, a town with a population of about 2600 people.

Because they’re above the Artic Circle, right now they are experiencing polar night, where they don’t see the sun until February, I believe Cecilia said. But she has years and years of videos featuring all seasons. They’re cozy and relaxing and completely unstressful. Lots of incredible shots, many from drones, and beautiful Northern Lights.

Sometimes I like to compare weather. We’re warmer than they are today by about seven degrees, but tomorrow, they’re looking at the high 20s F, and we’re going to be much colder than they are.

In the Artic.

Sigh.

Anyway, they’re fun to curl up on a couch and watch. Sometimes Christopher cooks or bakes, he even has a cookbook, I understand. And while I’m sure no one’s life is completely without drama, they don’t bring it to the channel, so it’s very much the opposite of a lot of YouTube.

So far I’m enjoying going lighter on a Friday, though this is only the second one and I never know when I’ll be overtaken by a rant.

But for today, I wanted to share a little warm and fuzzy in a cold spot from a place that’s about to be frigid.

Anyway, have a wonderful Friday and a fantastic weekend.
