It’s pretty hot today, full summer hot (86 F, 30 C) and the sky is one of those inscrutable ones where it might be hazy and it might be fully blue.
Who are we to decipher such mysteries.
I’ve been noticing lately a whole bunch of stories of people seeming to go fully feral. Brutality labeled as “roughhousing” with kids, despite grave injuries; people physically harming flight attendants; people shooting at and killing fleeing children and juries deciding there’s nothing wrong with it.
The very concept of shame itself is gone, and that’s from the people who have always told us to be ashamed of everything. They themselves have no moral limits and are ashamed of absolutely nothing.
The destruction of society they’ve decried from soap boxes and pulpits and debate podiums is here.
And they are it.
I am fully convinced that the super rich think they can rid the world of most of us and live a life of landed luxury being served by robots and AI and AI robots, who, they believe, will never flag, will never tire, will never file a complaint with HR.
They should really watch the show Humans.
Although I’m sure they’ll take the wrong thing from it. People tend to do that.
I don’t see people smiling on the streets anymore. People don’t make eye contact on the sidewalks as they pass anymore. Each of us, in our own little pocket of survival.
It’s got to change.
Or maybe they are right. Maybe we are our own mass extinction event.
And if so, I wish the greatest of luck to the cockroach people to follow. Or ant people.
Ant people seems more likely.
Anyway, that’s it for me on this Thursday, I hope you have a great day, in or out of pocket.
