I’s sunny, and summery, though not that hot, and I have to tell you guys that we went into the actual physical Costco store for a return (not the freezer! That remains a lost cause) and the problem is not the warehouse itself.
They’re lovely.
It’s the website, I think, and the business dealing with the website. Because the item we had to return was Tums purchased online; the first bottle had arrived open, so they sent a replacement.
Which also arrived open.
It took two people at the returns desk to pull at the thread to figure out the refund for the original one that had been replaced. They were so nice about it. When I casually mentioned to my dad I was looking for the hand towels, a worker nearby told me exactly where to find them.
It’s not the Costco store.
“Why buy these online?” said one of the customer service people behind the counter, “we have them in the store.”
Why indeed.
Like so many things in this world, there are layers, and part of the picture isn’t the whole picture.
I swore I was done with the freezer saga, and I am, but it wasn’t the warehouse that did it. That Costco, the one with the well-paid and truly helpful employees, that still exists.
Aside from the super insistent guy who tried to get us to switch to AT&T, who had to be told repeatedly no, so firmly and consistently I think the other person working with him was about to tell him to cool it. But he didn’t work for Costco.
Everything doesn’t have to be all or nothing, which is tough to stick with in this all or nothing timeline. A lot of things do.
But not everything.
That’s it for me on this Monday, have a fantastic day.
