It’s gray, and maybe it’s foggy, maybe it’s starting to rain, I can’t really tell. It will do what it will do.

It always does.

There is so much flooding at us, every second of every single day, and we’re trying to keep up with it, we’re trying to acknowledge it, we’re trying to do something about it, even when our options are limited.

I mean what are we supposed to do when the alleged head of the US military actually tells troops they are fighting to bring about Armageddon? That they want bring about the literal end of the world for a religious belief only a tiny fraction of the Earth’s population holds?

Obviously we can contact our representatives, and we should, but if republicans continue to let everything go as they have been doing, we could be facing a seriously dire situation.

That’s not hyperbole.

So many of us said this was the way it was all going, and so many people told us we were exaggerating or that it “couldn’t” happen or that some magical force of the universe would stop it somehow.

If there’s a magical force, it’s really keeping to itself.

Republicans have to. And republicans don’t seem terribly inclined to do so.

I wish I knew what to tell you. I also wish I could tell you it will all be OK but we seriously, seriously need to consider what we would do if it’s not.

Once again, I ask you, if you have republican representatives, contact them. Tell them you are not willing to go up in flames–along with the rest of the world–for someone’s religious ideology, which has no place in the US government at all.

Will they do anything? I doubt it, I don’t think republicans will every take a single step that doesn’t make them money or empower them in some way. They haven’t done a thing so far, why would they feel at all compelled to prevent the end of the world?

But still, call them. As useless as they are.

No one cared about the warnings when they could do something. All we can do now is hope we can vote to change who is in charge before it’s absolutely too late.

If you have a primary today, choose carefully. And if you’re in Texas, Rep. Jasmine Crockett would make an exceptional Senator, a leader who could help navigate us out of this mess.

It’s hard to tell you to have a great Tuesday after all this, but hopefully you can do one thing that makes you feel better. We’re doing the best that we can.
