We’re in for more storms, apparently, though they have largely been overnight or short ones. You wouldn’t know it now, though, it’s pretty sunny.

Ah, weather.

This morning I was thinking about words, which is a little ironic since I’m not doing a word prompt post, but hey, that’s the way my mind works at times.

Sometimes I hear words or phrases and think how easily they are said, how the words themselves smooth over reality. This happens most frequently for me while watching something, where, of course, things are more easily resolved.

“It was a hard time,” for example. With TV, we could be talking about a whole season, condensed to a few words.

With life, we could be talking about years.

A word that struck me recently is “fresh.” There is so much contained in it, but it’s a concept difficult to define without the word itself. I also feel like it’s one of those words that sound like what it is, and maybe that’s because all of its meaning is contained within it.

If you know what I mean.

Which I realize you may not.

I guess what I’m saying is words have meaning, but sometimes they convey accurately and sometimes they feel like they’re papering over something. Sometimes a phrase will make me stop and say “but how? How do you do that? How do you translate that to real life actions?”

Because some words are very empty.

Anyway, it’s nothing deep or ground shaking today, just a quick little tour inside the weirdness of my mind.

And with that, I wish you a wonderful Friday and perfect weekend.
