It’s a gray day, dingy really, and today I have a melancholy I can’t really put my finger on. It’s only there, those last somber notes of a melody you can’t quite remember.
How it goes sometimes.
I think it’s fair to say we’re here witnessing the end of something slowly, slowly winding itself down.
Well, not itself, that implies there aren’t people to blame, people who have bludgeoned it to death, willingly, enthusiastically. First they stripped the beauty and now they’re going for the structure.
Watch the feathers fly.
Maybe they are doing us a favor in ways none of us can yet imagine. Because the future deserves a framework that is all future, and not laden, gory past. A future deserves hope and promise.
And we don’t have much of either right now.
It sounds simplistic, but I would love a golden, shiny world fair for everyone, plenty for everyone, joy and humanity for everyone.
Why is that treated as such a childish, ridiculous notion?
I think the problem starts there. This planet has enough for everyone, but so many people aren’t satisfied with that, they will not be quenched until they have everything and others nothing and maybe not even then.
Perhaps something is corrupted in the very fabric of their souls.
Maybe something was lost between this lifetime and the last; maybe in the next, it could be restored.
But it could be ours, that golden world. We only have to want it more than they want this grimy one.
That’s it for me on this Wednesday, have a fabulous day.
