I’m playing a game, as per last week’s wisdom, and I cannot get past a level. It’s timed, which I don’t like, and even when the program tries to give me a boost, I fail. So close, yet still fail.

And you know what?

I’m OK with it.

Fine, fine, I’m not OK with it, I’m intensely annoyed by it, but the fact is that’s life. We can’t do everything well. Most of us can’t do everything well, there will always be a Maya Rudolph or a Jennifer Garner, women who do so many things so well you forget things can be hard.

We don’t grow when we do the stuff we’re good at day in, day out, with no challenge on the horizon. We grow when stuff gets annoying, when it stops us in our tracks and says no.

And guess what else?

I finished the level. Take that, me.

Have a great Wednesday.
