It’s sort of sunny now but it’s supposed to rain later. Or very shortly. It’s so difficult to know these days.

And I have some errands to run. I wanted to delay them to tomorrow, in case the rain materializes, but it turns out, it may rain tomorrow too.

That feels awfully fitting.

But my dad has a way of putting things, not even as a suggestion, just as a casual statement, and he said “I like to get things out of the way.”

It crystalized for me that all I would be doing is kicking the can down the road. Yes it may rain today, in fact the way things work, it will almost definitely rain right when I’m struggling with some bulky returns.

The odds are almost as good for tomorrow.

If I get it done now, it’s done.

Sometimes kicking the can makes sense, especially if you’re playing Kick the Can. Does anyone else remember that game? Oh the suburbia kids miss out on these days.

But it doesn’t always. Sometimes it’s simply better to just get it done.

I’m flipping the coin, and I know which side I’m getting today. How about you? Whatever your bulky returns?

Anyway, that is it for me today, I have errands to run. Or walk at a brisk but safe pace because no one wants to slip in the rain.

Have a great Thursday.

Buy me a cup of coffee!
