Sunny and warm seems to be the theme of the week, though it’s less warm today than it’s been. I don’t mind it though.
A little spring is a good thing, it will be full summer soon enough.
I’m back to cynical today, which I guess is different than being flat the other day. I think of cynical as pointier.
Like a cactus.
As purely political prosecutions have become the norm, and judges who owe their position to a dictatorial toddler make paper snowflakes out of the Constitution to be sure it doesn’t get in the way of the power in the hands of said toddler, my optimism is as dim as a star on the brink of becoming a black hole.
So.
Not great.
Also I’m not sure that simile is astronomically correct, but let’s not dwell on it.
I genuinely do not know where we go from here. I’m not sure that candidates he backed winning over candidates he felt betrayed him indicated the will of the electorate as much as their ability to more effectively cook the books. That thought will not leave me, and if it is at all true, well, that’s not great.
That they’re learning what happens when the snake you wield as a weapon circles back to bite you isn’t as comforting as it seems like it should be. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t hate them finding out, but I also think that if ever there was a time for them to be brave, it’s now that they have nothing else to lose.
But if they were ever brave, instead of greedy and selfish and drowning in ego, we wouldn’t be there.
And that’s enough bitterness for the day. I hope if you too are feeling cynical, you can still find something to enjoy. Have a great Thursday.
