It’s a sunny day today, and I think the rest of the week is supposed to be too. That’s a bit of a change, and nice one, I think.

I’m less flat than yesterday, maybe all that comfort food actually did its thing. Last night, I was using the leftover soup with some ground chicken and vegetables to make a sauce.

First, the eggplant was bad. So I had to pivot. And then I use one of my old (old) pots to make the pasta and realized it smelled…off. Apparently that kind of pan can degrade over time, and while it’s not dangerous, it’s not pleasant.

So pasta wasted, sauce ready, I had to pivot. Again.

I ended up, with another AI suggestion (it had recommended the first two uses for the soup), with a pot pie using my standard dough I use for everything, and it was great, though the whole process took hours.

HOURS.

I think these are the places AI really shines: what to make with what you have; how to recover when things go awry. Purchasing decisions. Project instructions, it’s been really helpful with my learning to sew.

And I’m talking the basic AI everywhere you look, not those ones you pay for.

Acting like a librarian with infinite patience. Of course you always need to verify.

These pie in the sky dreams of AI running everything seem like the imaginings of men who want to be paid for work they don’t do.

And paid for work they don’t have have to pay to get done.

A view of a future where labor is free and they can keep all the marbles all to themselves always always always they’re telling mom.

You get the idea.

I think AI works great as a support. Not truly an “assistant” per se, but a supercharged search engine that summarizes well.

Also I’m always polite to it because, well, you never know.

Anyway, that’s it for today, I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday.
