Still no rain, though there are clouds in the sky that look like huge waves, so who knows what they will hold. Apparently Wisconsin got nailed with the rain though.

It’s so hard to know where these things are going.

Before we do anything, thank you so much, TellusTales, for the coffees! I’m sure my bleary-eyedness is clear from the writing, and I genuinely appreciate the boost. Smiles these days feel tough to come by, thank you so much for sharing some joy.

And now Friday.

I haven’t even mentioned Gloria Steinem. What is there to say about a woman who blazed a path and scorched the earth to be certain the women behind her could follow? All I can tell you is the bad guys really, really won this round.

It’s tough to process them all.

I don’t know you guys, I found myself down the rabbit hole of people talking about unreasonable Airbnb hosts talking about how “poorly ” guests have left their place and I’m relatively certain that we’re in a final lap of humanity.

How I even got there, I don’t know, but there were people, conscientiously maintaining a pleasant demeanor for the camera, as they complained about the state of the houses they’d rented on the platform. And then they’d dramatically pan to the evidence; a blanket used and left on the sofa; a misplaced remote; a few grains on the floor.

One place was utterly immaculate but the woman said reports from her neighbor would make her take their rating down.

It’s true what they say about giving people with no power a little authority.

I’ve never stayed in an Airbnb but these videos put out by the hosts themselves make it seem like they hate having guests in their homes. Like the guests are relatives who suddenly announce they’re coming to stay, imposing themselves, leaving the place in shambles.

Who is still paying money to clean someone else’s house and then be charged a cleaning fee?

It makes no sense.

Though I’m not a big group travel person, I suppose.

But here were are, the fragile shell of democracy on the brink of full collapse, and all I’m seeing are videos about how many rolls of toilet paper guests use.

I’m surprised no one is playing the fiddle in front of the roaring dumpster that is 2026, Nero-style.

Allegedly.

At least that content would be more honest.

Anyway, that’s it for me for the week, I hope you have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend.
