We’re apparently in for some turbulent weather today, though I’ve yet to see proof of it. Still we’ve got clouds and who knows what they’re going to do.
It is what it is.
Speaking of being what it’s determined to be, not only did the Boy with the Nazi Tattoo win the primary, he won it resoundingly. I’d say I didn’t know what it means, but I do.
Lessons are never learned.
There is nothing people love more than to give unqualified white men “a chance” to do something there is absolutely no evidence they’ll do well. As though those two characteristics inherently impart competence in all ways.
They don’t.
We have firm evidence they don’t.
But I don’t live in Maine, and I don’t get a say even though either way that state votes now, we lose. I assume he’s Fetterman, nazi edition.
We can’t even say “at least he’ll caucus with the Democrats,” because we have seen that unravel in real time. All these years of terrible political decisions resulting in real world consequences and while people may have gotten the memo, they’re certainly not reading it.
They’re using it as a coaster or to line bird cages.
And then they decry the cost of things and the lack of housing and the lack of a safety network and income inequality and the lack of rights and any single thing that affects them personally and it’s as though they can’t do a two-point connect the dots.
I’ve had it, my friends. I’ve good and truly had it and I don’t even know what to say about it anymore.
You think things are bad now? Wait until they have power that is cemented and cannot be uncemented. The only thing standing between them and that is this November.
And look how that’s going.
If elected, he will have input into legislation that affects the very groups he’s shown disdain for. He seems incredibly ill-prepared and woefully underqualified, and yet somehow, a woman with a full resume and tons of experience couldn’t even begin to keep pace with his fundraising and support.
Where have I heard that one before.
Here we are, this is the full-throated warble of the white male, convinced of his skill, his ability, his entitlement to be the lord of all he surveys and they will vote for that because it confirms it for them too. They too could put down the tools of their trade and be a Senator because they want to be.
And they too, want to make sure those educated, qualified women know they’re never enough.
I’m not underplaying the wink wink racism and myriad of other bigotries either. I’ve seen it first hand in conversations with men who call themselves “progressive,” equality is fine but not too much equality.
Like a nazi tattoo is bad but it’s OK if you’ve covered it up.
I still don’t rule out, given who is supporting this guy, that he’s yet another agent paid by a foreign government, as that has proved pretty successful. And people are as pliant as wet reeds, they eat it all up, no matter how many times they play the same con.
“Oh, he’s fresh and new and an OUTSIDER!” Like knowing what the law is and how to comply with it is a problem.
Well it is for some people, so there you go.
Anyway, I am no less angry at the end of this rant than I was at the beginning, so I will call it a Wednesday and wish you a great one.
