#WednesdayWisdom: Some days even quarter-hearted will do.

Standard

Well we got the snow. Lots and lots and lots of snow.

So much for that stripe of blue on the weather map.

But as I sit here inside, away from a winter wonderland in the making, the roads still smushy and slidey, I am not what one would call “motivated.”

It made me think about how we often console ourselves by saying we “tried our best.” And today it hit me: it doesn’t even have to be your best.

To try is good enough, if that’s all you have.

Any effort is an effort.

Some days, a quarter-hearted–not even half-hearted, but quarter-hearted–effort will do.

Forward is forward, no matter how miniscule the momentum.

And that’s it for me on this blizzardy Wednesday. Have a great day, and if you’re having bad weather, please be safe.
