Ten Word Photo Prompt: Halloween

Standard
Photo by JJ Jordan on Pexels.com

It’s ten word photo prompt time! And given it’s Halloween, we’re going lightly spooky, not quite as creepy as last week.

So using the picture above, write a story of ten words. Exactly ten.

Ready? Here’s mine:

Reluctantly transformed, Ariadne fought for balance with only four limbs.

#WednesdayWisdom: Blah it out.

Standard

I’m all kinds of blah today. The weather certainly isn’t helping, it’s rainy and gray and it’s probably going to stay that way until it snows, which may be sooner rather than later.

I’ve had zero coffee so far, which is probably contributing to the blahness of it all. Nothing like coffee to get that blah on its blah-y way.

I had a blah night’s sleep too, so that could be another wrench in the old, hmm, something funnier than “works.”

See what I mean?

Definitely blah.

So when blah, I propose you be the most blah you can be.

Extremes are the enemies of blah. Or so the theory goes. We’ll see.

Have a wonderful Wednesday.

#TuesdayThoughts: Marshmallow Fluff-Based Lifestyle.

Standard

Not that I’m living one. But I’m definitely considering a marshmallow fluff way of life.

In all honesty, I considered adding some to my coffee this morning. Not sure if it would work, but I’m kind of willing to give it a shot.

It’s good, that’s all I’m saying, and much easier to make than you might think.

What is this, a cooking blog?! Very food-obsessed this morning. Although I guess my rambling is my rambling. Today it’s floating in fluff.

It’s gray again and I’ve heard we’re supposed to get snow this week. I guess it’s that time, but I’m not ready. That won’t change the weather, though.

It’s great for cozying up with a manuscript to edit, and that’s what’s ahead of me. Have a fantastic Tuesday.

#MondayThoughts: Right round, baby, right round.

Standard

It’s sunny, but the leaves are hitting the ground. I ordered some additional bad-weather boots and I’m preparing myself.

Winter is coming.

It always does. Meanwhile, this year, the very year I’d swear only just started, is breezing by. Breezing is the wrong word.

It’s squealing by like a rusty merry-go-round with crumbling, reluctant gears. But it still moves faster than you think it should.

I’m leaning toward no NaNoWriMo this time, the idea of greeting November without the pressure sounds much better to me, more enticing than the fun of getting it done.

But we’re not at November yet. Almost.

But not yet.

I’ve miles and miles of editing to go, as I’m only taking my first run though, so I should get to that. Have a marvelous Monday.

It’s been a week. An “Everything falls on the floor the moment you get it into place” week.

So not a great week.

I did do some editing, not enough but some, and more to come today. And fitness-wise, five days, five workouts.

They were good workouts, though I got up this morning extra sore. That’s good, right?

Looking forward to a quiet weekend. So that’s me, how was your week?

Ten Word Photo Prompt: Oops

Standard
Photo by it’s me neosiam on Pexels.com

It’s ten word story time! Actually it’s pretty well past ten word story time, but life got in the way. Life and a collapsing clothes rack, but details, details.

So you know the drill.

It’s a gruesome-looking one today, isn’t it? What the heck, it’s October.

Using the photo above, write a ten word story. Exactly ten words.

Ready?

Here’s mine:

Looking at her hands, Oona realized it was over. Finally.

#WednesdayWisdom: Now

Standard

So it’s bright and sunny today, and it’s almost as though the rainy gloom of the last few days never happened. I’m not sure whether that cold I thought I was getting is happening, but I figure if I don’t bother it it won’t bother me.

Wishful thinking, I’m sure.

Still it’s the kind of day that makes Fall a favorite season. Cute boots and pretty trees, what more does a person need?

And I think that’s the thing for today. Take a moment to notice something, something that likely won’t be the same tomorrow.

Notice now.

And I’m off to notice how much work I have ahead of me in my manuscript. Have an awesome Wednesday.

#TuesdayThoughts: Vacant

Standard

It’s rainy today. I’m feeling sniffly, and I hope it’s not the beginnings of a cold. No one wants that.

Especially me.

Perhaps more coffee will solve it. Perhaps not. But it might be worth a try.

It’s quiet, outside and inside, and my mind is oddly quiet too. I say “oddly” because I usually have a stream of thoughts, one after another after another; sometimes they all crowd together at once.

Not today. My money’s on that potential cold.

Just as well, I need to keep my head on my editing as I vacillate on NaNoWriMo. Right now I’m leaning toward not doing it.

That can always change.

I’m off to edit. Have a marvelous Tuesday.

#MondayThoughts: OK Then

Standard

Mondays have a way of showing up, one way or another. And here we are, another one.

I think they feel harder because of inertia, the effort of not moving that much to getting up to at least a light trot. But it’s OK.

We can do it.

It’s a gray day today, not sure if we’re supposed to get rain, the clouds seem indifferent. The trees are in their full fall glory, reds and yellows set off among faded greens, the last show of color before the winter comes.

Winter. Again. Can you believe it?

I may try to stick to a single cup of coffee today, but you and I both know, it’s really not up to me.

We’ll see.

It’s miles of editing ahead of me, and I’ll have to decide on NaNoWriMo. Still very much on the fence. How’s that for balance?

Have a wonderful Monday.

Hello Friday! And with Friday it’s time to talk about how we’re doing on our various goals.

So I’ve been editing, not as much or as quickly as I should, but it’s happening, and that’s something. I do love editing on a tablet, it’s remarkable how close it is to using paper, but I can actually read my notes later.

That’s a bonus.

Fitness has been five days, five workouts, and I liked this week, maybe because it was mostly strength and somehow it feels like less work. Though it’s pretty challenging.

Who knows.

So that’s my week. How was yours?
