#TuesdayThoughts: Boosted

Standard

First things first, here’s the latest Mom Update. Since it’s Tuesday and all.

Yesterday I got my COVID booster. Today I’m feeling fine, with only a bit of a sore arm. No world-ending symptoms. I was concerned I’d get a fever or something, many people have, but no.

I got the booster at Walgreens, and there were many people waiting. I ended up pretty early for my appointment. There was a man there who was late.

I thought we could just swap, and the whole world would even out.

It wasn’t even necessary. They got me in and I was done waiting for the 15 minutes just after my appointment time.

So I recommend getting an appointment, mine took a while, a lot of people are getting boosters. Aside from the pain in my arm, I really have nothing.

Maybe I’m a little tired but I don’t know if that can be attributed to the shot. I’ve got some stuff going on.

Anyway that’s it for me. Have a great Tuesday.

#MondayThoughts: Grumpish

Standard

I’m in the midst of choosing a new health plan for next year. It’s later than I normally do it, but you may have noticed I have a lot going on.

A lot.

A LOT.

And this year, there are far more choices than over the last four. Far more.

So it’s going to take a while.

It’s a gray, gray day, and tasks I will not enjoy are looming. You know that kind of a Monday.

But you gotta do what you gotta do.

And what I gotta do can’t be done over a nice chat on the blog, sadly. But that it could.

So I’ll go do my things, and you go do your things with as much grump as you like, especially if you’ve just landed from a long weekend. Have a great Monday.

#FridayThoughts: Bitty bits.

Standard

Thanksgiving is done and now it’s just a quick downhill jaunt to the end of the year. So strange.

I think it’s gray out but it’s one of those days when you just can’t be certain, with the clouds that color that makes you wonder if they’re really there.

Hmm.

Beyond that, there isn’t that much to say so I’ll keep it brief. Have a great Friday and a wonderful weekend, especially if you are in the midst of a long weekend, and especially if you aren’t.

#ThursdayThoughts ten word photo prompt: Happy Thanksgiving!

Standard

It’s Thursday AND Thanksgiving so it’s a Thanksgiving #ThursdayTen!!

Using the above image as a prompt, write a ten word story.

EXACTLY ten words.

Whether Thanksgiving is your theme or whether it is not is entirely up to you!

Ready?

Here’s mine:

Callista imagined how she’d kill her sister. She’d been warned.

#WednesdayWisdom: Oh I still have to write my blog.

Standard

Happy Thanksgiving to anyone who celebrates, since we are at Thanksgiving Eve. And if you’re cooking, well, I wish you the best.

We are probably having hospital food for Thanksgiving, I don’t know if my mom will be back at the rehab facility in time for their Thanksgiving meal.

Oh well.

I’ve been very off this morning, sleeping late which threw my schedule into overdrive. I needed it though, I didn’t sleep well.

So I’m doing the best I can with the rest of the day. What else is there to do?

If you are feeling the pressure, the endless ring of timers, a scheduled packed with just so, take it easy on yourself. We are all only people, doing the best we can.

Have a great Wednesday.

#TuesdayThoughts: Very briefly

Standard

Here’s the latest update on my mom, since it’s Tuesday. It’s not going that well, but until we get there we won’t know the whole story.

I think it’s sunny today, I couldn’t tell you for sure, I’m just trying to get it together to get going. I’m edgy, of course, with the unknown, there’s been so much of that.

Not much more to add today, my mind is not here, even in trying to write this post in my little narrow window of time I find my brain drifting off toward the next, toward the questions.

Steeped in the uncertainty.

So I wish you a wonderful Tuesday and off I go.

#MondayThoughts: It gets dark early around here.

Standard

It’s Thanksgiving this week, which hardly seems possible. It was just August.

Well, you know about my loop.

It’s sunny today, and I don’t think it’s that cold, so it’s not exactly what you’d think of as Thanksgiving weather, all chilly and cozy. Everywhere the lights are going up, traditions of the day after Thanksgiving succumbing to people needing a little extra sparkle and twinkle.

It gets dark early around here.

So it’s Monday, but for a lot of people it’s not a real Monday, and if you are one of those people I hope you’re having a great, relaxing time. And if you’re not, I hope you have a chance to have a great, relaxing time this week.

And that is that for today. Have a spectacular Monday, exactly where you are.

#FridayThoughts: Circles

Standard

Round and round I go, minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day.

Week by week.

The circles vary. Sometimes. The circles change.

Sometimes.

But they are circles, nonetheless.

Forward is a bit of an illusion, at least lately.

Perhaps always?

For me, the reasons are specific, and for you the reasons are specific, but in this space here, let’s let them be vague.

And with that, I wish you a wonderful Friday and a fantastic weekend.

#ThursdayThoughts Ten word photo prompt: Found

It’s #ThursdayTen time! Using the above image as a prompt, write a ten word story.

EXACTLY ten words.

So easy! Sometimes! Other times, not so easy.

You know the drill.

Ready? Here’s mine:

Trapped by the beam, Len didn’t fight. He’d go home.

#WednesdayWisdom: Let’s go with it.

Standard

My weather app says there’s a 24% chance of rain today, but I’m pretty sure I’m looking at rain right now. What do I know.

Someone explained once on twitter that those percentages don’t actually represent the odds it will rain, but the percentage of the area likely to receive rain.

Yeah, it didn’t make sense to me either. It doesn’t seem terribly useful, but there it is, on every weather report.

Even if it’s just fog, it’s terribly gloomy today. This is the kind of weather I associate with November, not those mild, sunny days we’ve had sprinkled in.

Whatever it’s doing out there, it’s messing with my head, my thoughts slowly flowing from the bottle of my brain like molasses.

Can a brain be a bottle? Eh, let’s go with it.

We all have to get a little “good enough” into our lives. Sometimes it’s all you have time for; sometimes it’s as far as you can go. When things are uncertain, as things currently are, the best you can do under the circumstances really is the best.

And with that, I wish you a sensational Wednesday.
