#FridayThoughts: Now with indictment.

Standard

No TV Watch this week. Last week, to be entirely honest, it slipped my mind completely; this week I don’t have a good theme for you fleshed out. I was thinking about bad guys getting their due, but that feels a little spoilery.

Topical though.

In case you haven’t heard, donald trump was indicted in New York on 34 counts. We don’t know what, specifically, yet, as it’s still under seal, but it’s probably safe to assume many of the charges are the same ones Michael Cohen already served time for. And he cooperated.

Which means trump is not likely to get a deal like that.

It’s been a long time coming and is probably the first of many, so here’s hoping it can go all the way.

It’s gray today and rained last night, booming thunder working its way into my dream, dramatically and very strangely appropriately. Plus one to my imagination.

Now, though, it’s not clear what it’s going to do. Maybe it will rain, maybe it won’t. The sky itself seems unsure.

We started this week with 0 indictments against trump and we’re ending with with 34 counts against him so I think, no matter what happened in the intervening time, it’s a pretty good end.

So with that I wish you a happy Friday and a wonderful weekend.

#ThursdayThoughts #ThursdayTen: Perspective.

Standard
Photo by Frank Chomiuk on Unsplash

It’s THURSDAY! And that means it’s time for our #ThursdayTen!

Using the image above as a writing prompt, create a ten word story! EXACTLY ten words.

That seems easy enough, right?

Right?

Yeah, I don’t think so either, but it’s definitely fun.

Anyway, ready?

Here’s mine:

Bipsy walked his human twice a day, rain or shine.

#WednesdayWisdom: Flaws into features.

Standard

I’ve been watching a lot of YouTube videos of people in small apartments in various parts of the world. It’s so interesting to see how people can utilize even the least amount of space, how they can turn flaws into features.

It gives me ideas, though they would all require getting rid of books. A lot of books.

Not sure I’m prepared to do that.

Still, it remains that most of the problems we’ve faced in life have been faced before. Someone, somewhere, has muddled through.

Probably.

There’s a sense of reassurance in that, I think. Alone in this moment, perhaps, but not through time and space.

And if you are the first, then someone, somewhere, will find you inspirational.

There’s some reassurance in that too, I think.

And as I typed, a band appeared across the sky. Blue or gray, I cannot tell. A break in the clouds or more clouds to come.

Someone, somewhere knows the answer to that.

In about 20 minutes, I’ll probably know the answer to that.

Sometimes that someone, somewhere is you.

Have a great Wednesday.

#TuesdayThoughts: Ambiguous and a downer

Standard

First, #ChatTuesday, “Frozen on eggshells.” And now Tuesday.

Yesterday’s aberration of sunniness seems to have ended, we’re back to cloudy. I don’t think it’s going to rain, it’s just going to be gray and overcast for no apparent reason.

Oh and the temperature is supposed to plummet on Saturday, so that’s an added bonus. Sorry everything that started coming up, thinking it was time for spring.

Think again.

I finished a show, and though I saw a clear pathway to a happy ending, they didn’t take it. Instead, it was ambiguous and a downer. I don’t understand that, really, because life itself is both ambiguous and a downer.

What’s the point of not remaking it when we can?

I’m sure people enjoy their sad stories, but I like upbeat in the imagined. It makes for better places for escape.

Isn’t that what entertainment is for?

Anyway, that’s it for me on this Tuesday. Have a great day.

#MondayThoughts: Changing.

Standard

Coffee coffee coffee pretty much sums up my thoughts this morning. Is that enough for a post?

Maybe?

I can tell you I don’t think I’m getting away with one cup. Maybe it would be best for all of us if I go get that second one going right now. And off it goes. And since I had some interruptions, it’s now more than half gone.

Look at how I can control time here on my blog. All compressed into an instant.

Amazing.

It’s finally sunny after a long string of not being sunny, though it’s still pretty chilly. But maybe not for long, because that’s how these things go.

The seasons follow, one after the other, steady, unyielding. Which makes me want to share this with you, I saw it on twitter, and I can’t get it out of my mind. It’s very calming to watch.

The artist’s name is Howard Lee, and his work is remarkable. It’s a truly great use of five minutes.

Anyway, that’s it for me today, have an incredible Monday and a great start to your week!

#FridayThoughts: Most things are.

Standard

It’s still gray, possibly not rainy, though. I’m not entirely sure. I guess I can see what the weather has to say but they can’t be sure either.

They say later. I guess we’ll see.

I slept badly last night, and now that I’m awake, sort of, the dreams still linger in a very vague way. Like I’m supposed to be somewhere else.

Like I’m partially somewhere else.

Physics is weird.

Keeping us to one place at a time and all that. Or so we think. I mean the universe could be far more complicated than we understand.

Most things are.

Yesterday I ran a bunch of errands and it felt strange, out in multiple stores all at once. The stores feel emptier than they did before, fewer things on the shelves, fewer people.

The world has changed but only some of us have been changed by it, I guess. Inertia is strong.

Anyway, that’s it for me this week. Have a fantastic Friday and a lovely weekend.

#ThursdayThoughts #ThursdayTen ten word photo prompt: Damp.

Standard
Photo by Gaspar Zaldo on Pexels.com

It’s THURSDAY! And that means our #ThursdayTen!

Using the image above as a prompt, write a ten word story. EXACTLY ten words. Hope it provides some inspiration, I thought this image was just gorgeous.

More or fewer than ten words and the Word Enforcer will find you. The Word Enforcer is kind of like one of those creepy robot dogs but very picky about word counts and no one wants that.

ANYWAY, ready? Here’s mine:

Rain fell as, quest complete, Marco trapped the demon’s image.

#WednesdayWisdom: If rain can think

Standard

Sometimes I think if an airplane thought too much about how it flies, it would never get up in the air. So much of life is like that, really.

We just do it.

Like the writing. When I think too much about it, I end up having nothing to say, but when that glorious brain to typing fingers superhighway opens up, it’s a whole different story.

Sometimes literally.

Literally.

Wow, I’m like the Inception of puns today.

Anyway, it’s gray, and possibly raining but if it not yet, soon. I’m fine with that, the rain will bring green and flowers. And we like those.

I wonder if, when it looks like this and doesn’t rain, the rain looks down.

You’re never supposed to look down.

And it thinks, if rain can think, never mind. Not for me.

It’s that hesitation that gets us, almost universally. Not that good-for-you kind where you stop yourself before disaster, but the bad-for-you-kind that holds you firmly in place.

Perhaps even for rain.

Have a great Wednesday.

#TuesdayThoughts: Thinking aloud.

Standard

First, #ChatTuesday, “Flaws shine like rivers.” And now Tuesday.

It’s gray out, and it’s supposed to rain. It feels like it will rain, I’m tired like it will rain. I’m already drinking my second coffee.

I didn’t even think twice about making it.

It seems the weather isn’t done with me yet. Official spring or not.

Last week, trump posted that he was going to be arrested Tuesday, after news that officials were in talks to manage security concerns in the case of his arrest. While it sounds as though trump’s lawyers were told he’d be arrested or have to turn himself in today, being trump, who knows.

Seriously, who knows.

There were barricades going up in New York yesterday around the Manhattan court house, though, and new barricades around the US Capitol. We can remain forever hopeful.

But we’ll see if anything comes to fruition today.

Obviously I hope it does, it’s been a long time coming, but we have no guarantees. I hope it starts a whole cascade, one that gets to every single member of this entire power grab, and I hope trump tries to to throw them all under the bus to save his own skin.

To see them all come to justice would be beautiful.

And I’ll leave you with that very happy thought. Have a great Tuesday.

#MondayThoughts: Lamb part of March.

Standard

It’s in the low 40s and the clouds and the blue are taking turns. It’s almost a springy day. Not quite but almost.

Yesterday, the wind was fierce, my hair a tangled tornado, and I wondered aloud when we would be getting to that lamb part of March.

Soon, I hope.

So after trump’s rant about being arrested Tuesday, there are heavy steel barriers going up in New York. Perhaps, but perhaps, the piper has opened his cashier’s window.

Time to pay up, trump.

One of the things that amuses me are all the people saying he did nothing illegal. If he did nothing illegal, why did Michael Cohen go to prison?

It’s not like Cohen took it upon himself to do all of this for trump’s benefit, that makes no sense whatsoever. And he got the money back, from what I understand.

And this case may be the first but it’s very unlikely to be the last. Maybe they’re going in the order in which the crimes were received.

I kind of hope not, though, because 1/6 and the Georgia call to manipulate the outcome of the election were so many terrible things later.

It all boils down to this: Justice is coming. At least it sure looks like it’s coming.

Have a great Monday.
