#WednesdayWisdom: Supermarket adventures

Standard

I went grocery shopping today, for me and for my parents, though my parents have been pretty successful in getting groceries delivered, which is good. It takes some pressure off me, I know if I don’t go to the store, they’ll cope.

Everyone was wearing a mask, they’re required now in Illinois and people, as a whole, kept their distance. Best of all, stocks were good.

There was a lot of toilet paper. SO MUCH TOILET PAPER.

I bought toilet paper.

They also had bleach though no wipes. It’s probably going to be a while for that.

I was able to get my mom flour, white and whole wheat, she bakes bread all the time so she KNEADS it.

Get it? GET IT?

I’m giddy from being done with the errands, having put most of the stuff away, having taken a SECOND shower and finally eating.

But also cupcakes.

Which I made. And they were delicious.

Anyway, it made me hopeful, the nearly-full shelves, other people being considerate. Honestly brightened my day. So do the same, give people a break when they’re looking for stuff, I told a guy to take his time and we ended up having a nice socially-distanced chat. He was buying for himself, his young (4 and under) kids and his wife’s parents.

That’s a tough assignment.

We’re all just trying our best. Except the people who aren’t and I recommend giving them 12 feet.

Have a great rest of your Wednesday, I’m late today.
